Dental recruitment just got easier

Dental recruitment just got easier

Candidate search is a brand-new function on Medicruit’s dental recruitment website, which is said to be unique to dental recruitment agencies in the UK. Medicruit’s database boasts around 60,000 dental professionals, each of whom are screened and qualified by a team of experienced recruitment consultants. Practices are able to tap into this resource at any time by using the ‘search dental candidates’ function, which enables them to filter results using a number of parameters including job title, distance from the practice and availability.

Medicruit’s vision is to have all candidate profiles listed online, which includes details of the days they wish to work, practice and software experience and the notice period they have in their current role. With the primary research being done conveniently online, Medicruit gives practice managers and business owners an initial insight into the dental talent available to them, instilling confidence in our service.

Still only a phone call away
This new website search function is only a few months old and Medicruit is in the process of contacting all of its existing candidates to seek permission to show their profiles online.

In the meantime, if a suitable candidate doesn’t appear online, Medicruit’s consultants can be reached by phone and asked to conduct a search of the whole database. In addition, Medicruit markets the position internally and externally when fully instructed while still under no financial obligation until a candidate has commenced employment.

Responsive Design
It can be difficult for busy practice owners and managers to set aside an adequate amount of time in their day-today work to undertake recruitment tasks. More likely, this work will be done out of hours or on the move, and a responsive website that is easily navigable and works on a smartphone or tablet, as well as a computer, makes this possible.

Medicruit has designed its new site so that it delivers relevant, accessible content, no matter what device it is viewed on, with user-friendly and intuitive navigation.

Improvements for job seekers
The sections of the site specifically for candidates have been enhanced for a better user experience and updated with more useful content. These include a responsive search filter for the hundreds of vacant positions listed on the site, and a job shortlist function that allows candidates to manage more than one job application at a time.

A streamlined candidate registration form makes it quick and simple to register with Medicruit and this process is always followed up with a qualifying meeting or phone call with one of its experienced consultants.

Additional features
As a recruitment agency solely focused on the dental profession, Medicruit brings its customers news that is relevant to them. The new website has a wealth of information and resources that will help candidates make the best of their job applications, and ensure recruiters are aware of all the legalities around employment, including indemnity and locum insurance, both of which can be purchased via Medicruit’s partner, Medifinancial.

Recruiting practices and hopeful job seekers will find everything they need to make the process of matching the right candidate to the right position as easy as possible.

Watch this space
Medicruit has more exciting plans for its website. Whilst new candidates and jobs continue to be added to the database, it is also developing further useful content, such as market intelligence, case studies and a log-in portal for both candidates and clients.

Medicruit has many years of experience in recruitment, specifically in the dental profession. Purpose-built by inhouse designers who have been in the industry for over 30 years, medicruit.co.uk is an example of how expert knowledge and collaboration can produce outstanding results and an excellent user experience. And all this is now accessible 24 hours a day.

Practice One
Practice Location
- this practice is located within a vibrant area in the heart of the capital and has been established for over 20 years.

Type of practice - currently associate run, the practice has four surgeries and provides general dentistry to a mix of NHS and private patients, with a high number of specialist referrals out of the practice. The premises are purpose built and operate on a leasehold basis. The lease had only one year remaining and consequently the purchaser was granted a new lease as part of the sale process.

Financials - total turnover was in excess of £750,000, which comprised an NHS contract of £454,000 for 12,350 UDAs, representing a significant UDA rate of over £36. In addition, there was c.£305,000 private fee per item income. The business also had significant growth potential through further promotion of private treatments and the introduction of in-house specialist treatments.

Buyer Appetite - this practice was marketed and sold within our premier tier buying group and was very popular. Mediestates conducted a full day of viewings alongside the vendor and invited offers for the business within 48 hours of this viewing day. Multiple offers were received resulting in a sale price in excess of the original marketing price.

Reason for sale/Incoming Purchaser - the practice came to market based on the current owner’s planned exit strategy ahead of retirement. The successful buyer was a local businessman who was purchasing the practice with his two sons, both of whom were qualified dentists.

Price Achieved - £2,000,000 inclusive of goodwill, equipment and fixtures and fittings. The significant asking price achieved demonstrates the strength of goodwill values within London at this time, particularly for practices with strong NHS contracts.
Practice Two
Practice Location
- established over 50 years ago, this modern, expense-sharing practice is centrally located within a popular home counties market town.

Type of practice - this is a three-surgery, mainly private practice that benefits from a well-known capitation scheme and a small NHS contract. The purpose-built premises are held on leasehold basis with a low annual rental.

Financials - total turnover of £457,000 is made up of 86% private fee per item income, 11% capitation income and 3% NHS income. Opening hours and chair time at the practice were not fully maximised, allowing an incoming buyer the opportunity to further grow the income.

Buyer Appetite - the practice attracted significant interest from our general market buyers with full sales particulars sent to over 300 matched buyers and 14 viewings taking place.

Reason for sale/Incoming Purchaser - this practice came to market due to one of partner’s wishing to retire. The second partner was flexible, which allowed us to advertise both a share of the business and the business as whole. The successful purchasers consequently bought the business as a whole, with both outgoing principals retiring.

Price Achieved - £600,000 for goodwill, equipment, fixtures and fittings.
Practice Two
Practice Location
- located on the south coast of England, this practice was established by the current vendor in 2004. The practice operates from a converted residential bungalow within a bustling village. It is surrounded by shops and amenities and benefits from excellent transport links and ample free parking.

Type of practice - this is a two-surgery, fully private practice, with income generated by one part-time associate and one part-time hygienist working alongside the principal. The freehold premises, owned by the current vendor, were to be included within the sale with an additional value of £355,000.

Financials - annual turnover of £250,000 was derived solely through private, fee per item treatments. The financial performance of the business was restricted by the number of clinicians generating income; however, with an owner occupier purchaser in place profitability could be significantly increased.

Buyer Appetite - we advertised the sale of the practice to our general market buyers, sending sales particulars to over 140 registered buyers.

Reason for sale/Incoming Purchaser - the vendor wanted to focus on other business interests and therefore ceased working at the practice on completion. This suited the purchaser who was a first-time buyer looking to work within the practice full time.

Price Achieved - £570,000 inclusive of goodwill, equipment, fixtures/fittings and freehold.
