A new opportunity has become available for an experienced Business Development Manager to join an award-winning, premier dental clinic located in Ipswich.

With a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, the practice places exceptional care at the heart of the patient journey. This practice invests in state-of-the-art equipment and cutting-edge technology to provide the very latest treatments and techniques in cosmetic and restorative dentistry and facial aesthetics.

The practice is seeking to appoint a high-calibre Business Development Manager with outstanding interpersonal, relationship development and organisational skills. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in planning and delivering business growth strategies, and will play a pivotal role in achieving the practice’s ambitious commercial objectives to become a first-choice regional dental referral centre.

The Business Development Manager will be energetic with a positive attitude, and have a deep understanding of dentistry, with a minimum of two to three years’ firsthand experience working in a busy, high-end private practice. Familiarity with dental implantology, endodontics, periodontics and facial aesthetics would be beneficial.

Reporting to the Clinical Director, the successful candidate will demonstrate sound commercial literacy and strong business acumen, and be sensitive to the dynamics of professional peer-to-peer relationship development. They will be capable of independent, critical thinking, and be confident providing appropriate advice to the Clinical Director as necessary. A key member of the transition team, they will have experience of developing and implementing strategies and plans, gaining support for their proposals and ensuring ongoing programme management.

The Business Development Manager will also be responsible for practice management duties (excluding CQC compliance), leading and motivating a number of direct reports and suppliers/contractors. The job holder will need to demonstrate human resource and financial management experience, as well as a sound grasp of IT and administrative processes and procedures underpinning routine practice operations. An appreciation of marketing and customer service principles is desirable.

Education requirements: Business studies or other relevant first degree.

Salary range: £35,000 to £45,000, depending on experience. Bonus scheme in place.

Main responsibilities:

• Advising Clinical Director on business development strategy and identifying opportunities for growth
• Managing practice administrative and clinical teams in regard to all non-clinical matters
• Managing suppliers and subcontractors
• Marketing strategy development and implementation according to plan, including events planning and management
• Liaison with local referring dental practices

• Practice management experience (minimum of two to three years)
• Commercial literacy/business acumen
• Financial management and strategic planning
• HR management
• Familiarity with practice management IT and administration systems, procedures and processes
• Project management
• Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship development skills

• A first degree in business administration or related studies
• A basic understanding of dental implantology, endodontics, periodontics and facial aesthetics
• An appreciation of marketing and customer service principles
